POODLE'S P.E.A.R.L.S.

(Promising Every Animal Rescued Lifelong Sanctuary)

A special program for senior and handicapped dogs.

This program is in memory of my little baby "Poodle" a senior who not only took our hearts, but filled it with compassion and joy. Her special needs opened the door to all elderly and handicapped pets. Currently we have 21 dogs in the Poodles' program. Behind each one we can see her halo glowing!

This is all for you sweet-tea!

Mission:

The sole purpose of Poodle's P.E.A.R.L.S program is to save the lives of senior and handicapped animals that have been abandoned. To shower them with love, medical attention and to be their sunshine in what can be a very dark, disturbing world. With your support they will know peace, comfort and happiness in the P.E.A.R.L.S program.

With your help we can save the seniors! We can comfort the handicapped, and we can see that those with disease, deformity, and special needs, find a loving and joyful life while here on earth! Welcome to the world of  Poodle's P.E.A.R.L.S.!

I cannot say enough about sweet Sasha. The chair of the P.E.A.R.L.S. program has given Sasha a forever home. She was fine until 1999 when she suddenly became paralyzed in her face. She is unable to chew but is doing great!

Meet Sam-the GREAT Pyrenees/ Lab. mix. Sam was found laying on the roadside. He was unable to move. Both back hips were broken. After many trips to Ohio, and months of TLC and physical therapy, Sam can now easily sneak into the kitchen and steal every loaf of bread he can find! Sam is about ten now. 80% house dog, loves to go places and is everyone's dream of a GREAT dog! Sam is for adoption.

Nickel was taken into the P.E.A.R.L.S. program after an abusive owner kicked him in the face and broke his jaw. It took two years for us to walk past him and Nickel not shy away from our feet. He has forgotten the abuse and is living out his golden years with us.

Poodle Potpie...Potty is my personnel P.E.A.R.L.S. dog. Her owners died and she was unwanted by the family. Our eyes locked and ya know how you just bond immediately? That was Potty and me!

This little poodle is D.J. We have no idea what the intials stand for but he is precious and up for adoption. D.J. was run over by a riding mower and lost one front leg. He is housebroken, about five years of age, loves everyone and everything! He request that I ask only for adopters who will allow him to sleep in the bed!

Trixie is a tiny white poodle that is blind. She was found standing in a gas station parking lot all alone. Trixie's only wishes are to be loved and lay in your lap. She is housebroken, does very well getting around and is for adoption. Trixie is about 12 years of age.

Hope came from a shelter in Pike County. She was a poodle-yeah right! Don't you just love it when someone pulls that on you?! Nonetheless-Hope is precious. She gets more out of praise than any treat! I swear she is just totally delighted when you tell her what a good girl she is! Hope is housebroken, about ten years old and a doll baby. She is for adoption.

Cloud is a wolf-hybrid with neurological problems. He was born sweet. Always has been shy, submissive and his eyes melt you! Cloud is currently battling hard times. Your prayers can only help.

This is Possum Chanel. A full blooded schnauzer that is about 12 years old. Possum is house broken, in good shape physically with the exception of hearing loss. She loves everyone. Enjoys loving, car rides and sleeping in the bed.

The photo above is of the Poodle's P.E.A.R.L.S. chair Cheryl, her daughter Ashley, and the big guy, Buddy. Buddy was attacked by a pit bull when he was a foal, destroying his skull in the area of his upper mouth. Buddy has no upper teeth and limited bone structure, and has a bit of trouble breathing, but we give him special food and give him pretty much free rein of the place!

This is Lily, the refuge's resident donkey.

The newest addition to the P.E.A.R.L.S. program...meet "Angel." Found wandering in a driveway on a cold February day, she was lost and mysteriously unclaimed. Doesn't she look precious now!

And this folks is tray a super sweet 3 legged kitty. He lost a leg as a kitten due to an unknown trauma. His other back leg was hurt by his former owners dog but has healed up nicely. Rather than care for his needs, they decided to drop him off at the local shelter . He needs o home without big dogs. He will get used to a small dog given time,
